The Gylfaginning adds a rarely cited detail — Máni abducted two children from Earth, Bil and Hjúki, who now accompany him on his path. Some folklorists have seen in this the distant origin of the English nursery rhyme Jack and Jill. The connection is enticing and unverifiable, as are many in this field.

📖 To learn more: Discover our guide to the nine worlds.

♦ Complete Your Viking Collection

Discover other pieces you might like:

Golden Leaf Viking Hair Pin

Golden Braided Viking Barrette

Filigree Viking Barrette with Turquoise Gem

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0974/0569/8430/files/pique-a-cheveux-viking-lune-chainette-ambiance.jpg?v=1787430274
