The design mimics a carved relief very convincingly, but the surface is perfectly smooth — no engraving, no volume, no cutouts. It is a quality print, not a carved piece. We would rather you know this before ordering than upon opening the package.

The story behind the motif

The endless knotwork, found carved on the portals of Norwegian stave churches, represents that which has neither beginning nor end. Nordic craftsmen covered door thresholds with it: crossing the door meant entering a protected space.

Specifications

Material: Printed aluminum

Dimensions: 20 × 20 cm

Print: Flat 2D, smooth surface, no relief

Installation: Wall-mounted, ready to hang

Installation and maintenance

Lightweight, it can be fixed to almost any surface: nail, screw, adhesive pad, or double-sided tape, depending on your wall.
