The shape this replica takes — cut-out head, long dorsal spike — belongs neither to this tradition nor to Scandinavian archaeology: it is a contemporary design from games and cinema. The Viking axe, for its part, never has a spike: against chainmail and wooden shields, a point provided no advantage.

To learn more, our guide to Viking axes details the forms actually attested in the North, for comparison with this one.

In the same category

Artorias' Sword (Dark Souls): Foam Replica, 102 cm

Sting: Bilbo's Sword, Leaf-Blade Replica

Needle: Arya Stark's Sword, 79 cm Replica

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0974/0569/8430/files/tomahawk-a-bec-manche-rouge-50cm-ambiance.jpg?v=1787672383
