Le Comptoir Viking
Viking-inspired online shop, opened in December 2025
Who we are
Le Comptoir Viking is an independent online Viking shop, opened in December 2025 and based in Paris. We do not have a physical store: everything happens on this site.
We offer jewelry, tankards and drinking horns, statues, and decorations inspired by Nordic art. These are contemporary pieces, not archaeological replicas: the motifs are real, but their design is modern.
What matters most to us is what accompanies every piece: the meaning of its symbol, explained with its sources.
"Cattle die, kinsmen die, the self must also die; but I know one thing which never dies: the reputation of each dead man."
— Hávamál, The Sayings of the High OneOur approach
Every symbol engraved on a ring or painted on a tapestry has a story. Some are attested by the Eddas, the sagas, and excavations; others were invented much later. We state which is which in both cases.
More than 70 guides on mythology, runes, and Viking history are freely available on our blog. We prefer to write "we do not know" rather than fill a gap with a legend.
