Eight points around a center
Eight tapered branches radiate from an ornate center, each edged with a fine engraving that catches the light. The pendant is flat, approximately 3 cm in diameter, mounted on a 60 cm fine-link chain—more discreet than our braided chains, better suited to its delicacy.
A motif shared by everyone
The eight-pointed star is not tied to any particular tradition: it is found as a compass rose on nautical charts, as the star of Venus in Mesopotamian iconography, and as a geometric motif in Islamic ornamentation. This is precisely what makes it an easy piece of jewelry to wear—it doesn't say too much and pairs with everything. The rest of our pendants can be found in the Viking Necklace collection.
A star that spans civilizations
Eight branches, and just as many stories. In Mesopotamia, it is the star of Ishtar, goddess of love and war, engraved on Babylonian boundary stones more than three thousand years ago. On Renaissance nautical charts, it became the compass rose, whose eight points mark the main winds—hence its Italian name, rosa dei venti. In Islamic ornamentation, the eight-pointed rub el hizb marks the divisions of the Quran. The same design, three unrelated uses. This is precisely what makes this pendant easy to wear: it makes no specific claim.
The pendant and its chain
Approximately 3 cm in diameter, flat, with each branch bordered by a fine engraving. The 60 cm fine-link chain is more discreet than our braided links—a deliberate choice so as not to weigh down such a graphic piece.
