The Knot and the Raven
In the center of the ring face, a Valknut in relief; on the side, a raven with wings spread that extends onto the shoulder of the ring. Two figures referencing the same god, united on a single signet ring. Sizes 7 to 13. Find it in our Viking Ring collection.
Two signs of Odin
The Valknut is one of the few truly attested "Viking" symbols: it appears on the Stora Hammars stone on Gotland, and on the Oseberg ship bed, always near scenes of death or figures linked to Odin. Its precise meaning has not been established—and we will not invent one. As for the ravens, they are named: Huginn and Muninn, "thought" and "memory," who travel the world each day and return to report everything to the god. Our article on the Valknut provides an overview.
Choosing your size
American sizes: 7 US ≈ 54 FR, 8 ≈ 57, 9 ≈ 59, 10 ≈ 62, 11 ≈ 65, 12 ≈ 67, 13 ≈ 70. Wrap a strip of paper around the base of your finger, mark the point of overlap, and measure in millimeters: this circumference is directly your French size.
Where the Valknut was found
Three stones and a ship, essentially. The Stora Hammars stone, on Gotland, where it appears above a scene that resembles a sacrifice. The Tängelgårda stone, on the same island, near a rider surrounded by warriors. The Lärbro stone, also on Gotland. And the bed of the Oseberg ship, in Norway, the burial site of two women interred in 834. The common thread in these contexts—death, transition—is what gave rise to the various interpretations. None are proven.
Specifications

- Motifs: Valknut and raven in relief
- Sizes: 7 to 13 (US)
What do the two motifs represent?
The Valknut — three interlocking triangles — in the center, and one of Odin's ravens with outstretched wings framing it on the side of the ring's face. Two figures linked to the same god.
Is the Valknut attested?
Yes, unlike the Vegvísir. It appears on the Hammars stone on Gotland and on the Oseberg ship — objects from the Viking Age. Its exact meaning, however, is still debated.
Is the ring thick?
The face is raised, but the band stays a normal thickness. It can be worn every day without getting in the way.
