A golden head on a black background

Maintaining a two-tone piece
PVD plating—Physical Vapor Deposition—bonds a layer of titanium nitride to the steel in a vacuum at a high temperature. It is much more durable than galvanic gilding: the layer becomes part of the metal rather than resting on top of it. In practice, this means you can wear this ring every day, wash it, and keep it on in the shower. Only two caveats: abrasive products, which can scratch the gold surface, and repeated friction against another hard metal ring, which will eventually mark the edges. A soft cloth is all you need for maintenance.

Is the stone natural?
No. It is a black synthetic stone, opaque and polished, set as the ring's face. We would rather make that clear than let you believe it is real onyx.
Does the gold tone wear off?
It is a PVD plating on stainless steel, far more durable than classic gilding. Avoid abrasive products on the gold-tone parts.
Is the wolf raised?
Yes, the head is sculpted in three dimensions and gold-toned, set on the black face that makes it stand out.
