A design that never ends
Four interlocking loops in an openwork square, traced with a single continuous line: this stainless steel pendant draws on the founding principle of interlace art. The empty space is as important as the solid—this is what gives the design its lightness, despite its four-centimeter sides. Mounted on a 60 cm Venetian chain. Find it in our Viking Necklace collection.
Celtic, Nordic, or both
People often contrast "Celtic knot" and "Viking motif." Archaeology tells a different story: the Scandinavian styles of Borre (late 9th century) and Urnes (11th century) are based entirely on interlace, and Vikings settled in Ireland, the Hebrides, and the Danelaw circulated these repertoires in both directions for two centuries. The motif belongs to both worlds. Our Viking symbol guide distinguishes between what is attested and what was invented in the 19th century.

For whom
An understated piece of jewelry that can be worn every day without being loud. In the same geometric spirit, see our moonstone triquetra necklace.
Is this knot Celtic or Viking?
The two traditions crossed paths extensively. Endless knotwork appears both in Irish Insular art and in Scandinavian art of the Borre and Urnes styles — the Vikings who settled in Ireland and the Danelaw carried these motifs in both directions.
Is the pendant large?
About 4 cm per side, with openwork, which makes it visible without being heavy. It weighs around forty grams with its chain.
Does it suit everyone?
Yes, the geometric design is unisex. The 60 cm chain makes it fall at breastbone level.
