Four axes arranged in a cross radiate from a central metal umbo on a slate-gray round shield. A border of runes encircles the disc, complemented by forged iron fittings on the sides.
What you receive: a flat print
Let's be clear from the start: this item is a 2D print. The design mimics a carved relief very convincingly, but the surface is perfectly smooth — no engravings, no volume, no cutouts. It is a quality print, not a sculpted piece. We prefer you know this before ordering rather than upon opening the package.
The story behind the design
The umbo — the metal boss in the center of the shield — protected the hand holding the grip and was also used for striking. Viking round shields were painted in bright colors and made of thin planks: they were designed to absorb a blow and then give way, not to last.

Installation and maintenance
Lightweight, it can be attached to almost any surface: nail, screw, adhesive pad, or double-sided tape, depending on your wall. A soft, slightly damp cloth is enough to maintain it; avoid abrasive products that would mark the print. Recommended for indoor use.
