Three prongs and a shaft

A stainless steel trident with curved prongs, edged with fine chasing, mounted on a ribbed central shaft. The space between the prongs is openwork, which gives the pendant its lightness. Approximately 4 cm, on a 60 cm braided chain.

Greek, not Nordic

The trident is the weapon of Poseidon, the Greek god of the sea, who became Neptune for the Romans—the one whose blow of the trident makes the earth tremble. The North does have a sea god, Njörðr, father of Freyr and Freyja, protector of sailors and fishermen; but he is not associated with any weapon of this kind. This pendant is therefore an exception in our catalog, assumed as such rather than disguised as a Viking amulet. The rest of our pendants can be found in the Viking Necklace collection.
