Three interlaced triangles — and a name dating from the 19th century
A wide leather cuff, edged with strap stitching and fastened with a pin buckle. In the center, a riveted round plate featuring the Valknut — three interlaced triangles — within a ring of runes. Three finishes: silver, bronze, and brown.

What sets this piece apart
- The pin buckle is fully adjustable: multiple holes, just like a belt. This is what separates a wearable cuff from a display-only accessory.
- The plate is riveted, not glued: four rivets pass through the leather. It will not come off at the first snag.
- The edge lacing keeps the leather flat: it prevents the edges from curling, a classic flaw of wide cuffs.

Did you know?
The Valknut is one of the few symbols in this collection whose ancient origins are beyond doubt. It is found engraved on the Stora Hammars stone in Gotland, on the Tängelgårda stone, and on a bed from the Oseberg ship — always in scenes related to Odin and death. However, one detail amuses specialists: its name. Valknut is a modern Norwegian word, coined in the 19th century from valr (slain in battle) and knut (knot). The Scandinavians who engraved it surely called it something else — no ancient source has preserved its original name.
To explore further, our Viking Bracelet collection gathers our other models, and our Viking necklaces complete the set.

Is the Valknut a true Viking symbol?
Yes, and that is rare. It is carved on the Stora Hammars and Tängelgårda stones, and on the Oseberg ship, always in scenes linked to Odin.
What does the word Valknut mean?
“Knot of those slain in battle”, from valr and knut. But the word is modern Norwegian, coined in the 19th century: its original name has not come down to us.
Is the cuff adjustable?
Yes, with a pin buckle and several holes, like a belt.
What finishes are available?
Three: silver-tone plate, bronze, or brown leather. The leather stays black on the first two.
