A Raven on a White Background
This Viking raven t-shirt is one of the few white models in our shop. A black raven is depicted in profile against a red lunar disc, itself encircled by a ring of runes and a cord of interlace. The contrast of the three colors—white, red, black—is bold and without nuance. Find this model in our viking t-shirt collection.
The same design is available on a black t-shirt, where the red takes on much greater prominence.
What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
Three bold colors without gradients represent the most demanding level of screen printing: every layer must hit the exact right spot.
- Precise Registration: the black raven stands out against the red disc without any stray white border, a sign that the screens are perfectly aligned.
- Textured Disc: the red is not a solid block but a clouded red, which avoids a "sticker" look.
- Runic Crown: the circle of runes closes the composition and provides scale for the motif on the chest.
- Cotton: the only material in which white remains comfortable to wear in the middle of summer.
For a raven rendered in line work rather than solid blocks, the raven in an ink circle is more graphic.
Choosing Your Size
The manufacturer does not provide a size chart for this model. Rather than leaving you without a guide, here is an estimated range, calculated from two adult size charts documented for other models in the department. These are orders of magnitude, not guaranteed measurements—we prefer to be upfront about it.
| Size | Flat Width | Chest Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| S | 49 to 51 cm | 98 to 102 cm |
| M | 51 to 54 cm | 102 to 108 cm |
| L | 53 to 57 cm | 106 to 114 cm |
| XL | 55 to 60 cm | 110 to 120 cm |
| 2XL | 57 to 63 cm | 114 to 126 cm |
| 3XL | 59 to 66 cm | 118 to 132 cm |
| 4XL | 61 to 69 cm | 122 to 138 cm |
| 5XL | 63 to 72 cm | 126 to 144 cm |
| 6XL | 65 to 75 cm | 130 to 150 cm |
The range widens for larger sizes because the two known charts diverge starting at XL: one increases by 4 cm per size, the other by 6.
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already wear that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Compare this number with the Flat Width column: no calculations required. You are thus comparing garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size—and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. When between two sizes, choose the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, standard Western ready-to-wear rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not correspond to any standard size. Worse, the same letter doesn't mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this department, a "L" can range from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Don't trust the letter, trust the centimeters.

Did you know?
Odin's two ravens are named Huginn and Muninn, "thought" and "memory." The Grímnismál, in stanza 20, places into the god's mouth a worry that has been much written about: every day he sends them to fly over the world, and every day he fears they will not return—but, he specifies, he fears more for Muninn than for Huginn. In other words, the god of wisdom fears losing his memory more than his thought. Many commentators have seen in this a reflection on what defines identity: one can stop thinking for a moment, but one cannot survive the forgetting of what one has been.

How is it different from the black version?
Only the color of the T-shirt. The design — raven, red disc, ring of runes — is identical. On white, the red looks lighter; on black, it stands out more.
What do the names Huginn and Muninn mean?
Thought and memory. The Grímnismál specifies that Odin fears more for Muninn's return than for Huginn's — so he dreads losing his memory more than his thought.
Is a white T-shirt a risky choice?
It shows marks faster than a black one, that's for sure. On the other hand, it doesn't fade and can handle more frequent washing.
Is the design on the back too?
No, the print is on the chest only. The back is plain.
