The same ring, in light steel
Continuous Futhark runic frieze engraved in intaglio, red border running along the entire circumference, approximately 8 mm wide. Only the steel changes compared to the dark version: here it is polished light, which makes the red stand out more. Sizes 7 to 13. Find it in our Viking Ring collection.
An alphabet, not a secret code
The Futhark is the alphabet of the Northern Germanic peoples—its name comes from its first six signs, just as our "alphabet" comes from alpha and beta. The Elder Futhark has 24 characters, the Viking Age one only 16. They were engraved on stone, bone, and wood; more than 6,000 inscriptions have been identified, the majority in Sweden. There was nothing magical about it originally: it was a writing system. Our guide to runes details each sign.

For whom
For those who prefer light steel. The dark steel version is available at the same price.
What is the difference from the dark version?
The design and width are identical: only the steel changes, polished bright instead of darkened. The red edging is the same. Both are the same price.
Do the runes spell a word?
No: they are Futhark characters in a decorative band, with no message to translate.
How do I choose my size?
US sizes 7 to 13. A US 9 corresponds roughly to a French 59-60, and a US 11 to a 63-64.
