A beak running along the finger

Huginn and Muninn
Their names mean "thought" and "memory." The Grímnismál describes their daily flight over Midgard and their evening return to Odin's shoulders—then reveals an unexpected confession from the god: he fears that Huginn might not return, but he fears even more for Muninn. Losing memory worries him more than losing thought. The skull treatment is a contemporary interpretation: the Scandinavians depicted the bird alive. Why a raven skull?
The raven is Odin's bird — Huginn and Muninn, “thought” and “memory.” Depicting it as a skull rather than as a living bird is a modern aesthetic choice, not an archaeological motif.
Does the beak stick out much?
It extends noticeably along the top of the finger, which gives the ring its recognizable silhouette. It is worn in a specific direction, beak toward the fingernail.
What do the runes on the sides say?
They are Futhark characters arranged as decoration, with no message. We would rather say so than invent a translation.
