Thought and Memory, One on Each Ear
These Odin's raven earrings made of stainless steel feature a head with a tapered beak, engraved plumage, and a hollowed-out eye resting against the earlobe. It is the most meaningful Nordic design in our range, in its most understated form. Find this product in our Viking earrings collection.

What Sets This Pair Apart
A pair of ravens, one on each ear: the effect is direct.
- Engraved plumage: the feathers are individualized, giving them depth despite their small size.
- Tapered beak: the silhouette remains recognizable even from a distance, unlike a generic bird.
- Daily wear: pressed against the lobe, the stud doesn't catch on anything and can be worn day and night.
- Documented symbol: Huginn and Muninn appear in both the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda.

Did you know?
Odin possesses two ravens: Huginn, Thought, and Muninn, Memory. Every morning he sends them to travel the nine worlds, and every evening they return to perch on his shoulders to report what they have seen. The Grímnismál, a poem from the Poetic Edda, places a troubling confession in his mouth: he fears that Huginn will not return, but fears even more for Muninn. Thus, the god of wisdom dreads losing his memory more than his thought—this is one of the few flaws attributed to him by the texts.

What do Huginn and Muninn represent?
They're Odin's two ravens: Huginn is Thought, Muninn is Memory. They fly across the nine worlds every day and come back to tell him what they've seen.
Is the symbol historically attested?
Yes. Odin's ravens appear in the Poetic Edda and in Snorri's Edda, and the bird is found on objects from the Viking Age. It's one of the best-documented motifs in this section.
Is it a men's piece?
It's a unisex model. The stud format and the steel finish suit everyone; the raven is in fact one of the Norse motifs most often worn by women.
Can I wear them with other Viking jewelry?
Yes, and the most consistent combination is the raven and Mjölnir: the two major symbols of the pantheon, worn together without looking overloaded.
