The Best-Attested Symbol of the North
These stainless steel Mjölnir earrings feature Thor's hammer—short handle, wide head, intricate engravings across the surface—scaled down into a stud. It is the most recognizable shape in the entire Nordic repertoire. Find this product in our Viking earrings collection.

What Distinguishes This Pair
Wear the most powerful symbol of the pantheon without the jewelry taking center stage.
- Perfect proportions: short handle and wide head, faithful to pendants found in archaeological digs.
- Engraved interlacing: the design covers the head of the hammer, just like the historical examples.
- Discreet size: sitting flush against the earlobe, the hammer is legible without being imposing.
- Suitable for constant wear: nothing hangs, nothing snags, day or night.

Did you know?
Unlike many symbols marketed as Viking, Thor's hammer is solidly documented: over a thousand hammer-shaped pendants have been found in Scandinavian graves and caches, from Denmark to Sweden and Iceland. It was an amulet actually worn by people. Its distribution accelerated in the 10th century, at the very moment Christianity was spreading across the North: wearing Mjölnir also became a way to signal your allegiance. A mold found in Trendgården, Denmark, even shows that crosses and hammers were cast in the same workshop.

Is Mjölnir a real Viking Age symbol?
Yes, it's actually the best documented of all. More than a thousand hammer-shaped pendants have been found in Scandinavian graves from the Viking Age: it was an amulet people really wore.
Why did it become more widespread in the 10th century?
It coincides with the spread of Christianity in the North. Wearing Mjölnir became a way of showing where you belonged, in the face of the cross.
Isn't the stud size too small for this symbol?
No, that's exactly the trade-off: wearing the most powerful symbol of the pantheon without it taking over your whole ear. If you want more volume, look at our sword drop earrings or our large hoops.
Is it a men's piece?
It's a unisex model. Mjölnir is worn by men and women alike, and the stud size suits every earlobe.
