A Square Bezel with a Beaded Border
These citrine zircon stud earrings hold the yellow stone in a strictly square bezel, its rim outlined with a row of steel beads. It is a clean, geometric treatment, the opposite of ornate settings. Find this product in our Viking earrings collection.
For the same stone in a decorative rather than geometric bezel, see our citrine studs with an ornate bezel.
What Sets This Pair Apart
A perfect square is unforgiving: the slightest flaw in a corner shows immediately.
- Beaded border: the row of beads softens the edge of the square and adds a play of light around the rim.
- Crisp corners: the frame is sharp, with no convenient rounding, which gives the design its rigor.
- Push-back closure: centered post, so the stud stays neatly aligned on the lobe.
- Stainless steel: the beads around the rim don't clog with grime and keep their shine.
For the same geometry in a lighter shade, our square champagne zircon studs are the direct variant.

Did You Know?
Norse art hates straight lines. Brooches, standing stones, church portals: everything is curves, knotwork, animals knotted into one another. Yet there is one massive exception, and it is everywhere — the runes. Their letterforms have only straight strokes and angles, without a single closed curve, and the reason is purely technical: they were carved into wood with a knife, cutting across the grain so the notch stayed clean. A curve follows the grain and is hard to read; a horizontal stroke blends into the grain lines. That is why the runic alphabet also avoids strictly horizontal strokes. The futhark does not have its angular look by aesthetic choice: it is the shape that wood imposes.

Is the square shape uncomfortable?
No, the corners look crisp but are softened to the touch, and the stud stays perfectly flat against the earlobe. You can keep it on comfortably, even at night.
How big is the square?
About six millimeters per side, beaded border included. It is a compact size that gets noticed for its shape more than its size.
Why are runes angular?
Because they were carved into wood with a knife. A curve or a horizontal stroke follows the grain and becomes illegible; only diagonal and vertical strokes stay crisp. The shape of the futhark comes from the material it was carved on.
Is this model unisex?
Absolutely. The strict geometry and the absence of figurative ornament make it one of the most neutral models in our range.
