A Yellow Stone in a Detailed Setting
These citrine zircon stud earrings grip a round yellow stone in a setting with ornate prongs: they don't just hold, they draw. The result sits between classic and ornamental, without tipping into overloaded jewelry. Find this product in our Viking earrings collection.
For the same stone in a strictly geometric setting, see our square citrine studs.
What Sets This Pair Apart
An ornate setting should decorate without ever stealing the spotlight from the stone.
- Sculpted prongs: each one has its own relief, visible from a three-quarter view and invisible from the front — the decoration doesn't swallow the stone.
- Raised stone: light passes under the setting, which avoids the dull look of closed settings.
- Push-back closure: a straight post and a back stopper, with no moving parts.
- Stainless steel: the contrast between the cool metal and the warm stone stays stable over time.
For a yellow stone paired with a figurative motif, our anchor studs use the same shade.

Did you know?
The yellow stone of the North wasn't citrine: it was amber. A conifer resin fossilized some forty million years ago, it comes above all from the Baltic, which holds most of the world's deposits, and Scandinavians gathered it on their own beaches after storms. Excavations at Ribe, in Denmark, and Kaupang, in Norway, have uncovered actual workshops: offcuts, rough-outs and unfinished beads by the hundreds, proof of batch production. Amber had everything going for it — warm to the touch, soft enough to carve with a knife, and light enough to float in salt water. Long before any gemstone brought from afar, it was the precious material of Northern Europe.

Is the stone a real citrine?
No. “Citrine” refers to the color here, not the mineral: it is a yellow synthetic stone. Real citrine is a natural quartz, often obtained by heating amethyst.
Is the yellow bright or golden?
It is a clear, true yellow, deeper than champagne but without turning gold. It is the warmest color in the range.
Can the detailed setting be seen when the studs are worn?
From the front, you only see the stone. The decoration on the prongs shows in three-quarter view and in profile, which gives the piece a second layer of detail.
Is this model unisex?
Yes. The warm color and small size make it easy for men and women alike to wear; it is the decoration of the setting, subtle but present, that keeps it from being too plain.
