Did you know?
The triskele is much older than the Vikings, and even older than the Celts. Its most famous appearance is carved on the entrance stone at Newgrange, in Ireland, dated to around 3200 BCE: three spirals wound into one another, drawn at a time when neither Stonehenge nor the Great Pyramid of Khufu existed yet. The Celts took it up three thousand years later, and Scandinavian art would give it its own version in the form of three interlocking horns, known as the horn of Odin.
