What you receive: a flat print
Let's be clear from the start: this item is a 2D print. The design mimics a carved relief very convincingly, but the surface is perfectly smooth — no engraving, no volume, no cutouts. It is a quality print, not a carved piece. We prefer you to know this before ordering rather than upon opening the package.
The story behind the design
The axe was the weapon of the masses: less expensive than the sword, it was used just as much for splitting wood as for combat. Two crossed axes on a shield serve as the makeshift coat of arms for the home — the kind you hang at the entrance to show who you are dealing with.

Mounting and care
