A Black and White Tribal Print from Neck to Hem
This all-over print t-shirt is covered in black and white tribal interlacings: sawtooth friezes, spearheads, spirals, and geometric bands that mirror each other from the collar to the sleeves. It is the densest pattern in the shop, and it is available in both children's and adult sizes.
The gold version of the same design is the black and gold tribal.
What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
Full coverage of the garment poses a problem that other prints do not: matching at the seams.
- Neat matching: the friezes continue from the shoulder to the sleeve without any visible misalignment, which is the true mark of quality for an all-over print.
- Polynesian pattern: spirals, chevrons, and spearheads: this is a Polynesian tribal vocabulary, not a Nordic interlacing — we prefer to state that clearly.
- Children and adult sizes: from age 4 up to 6XL in the same reference, allowing a father and son to wear the same pattern.
- Lightweight polyester: sublimation, soft fabric, quick-drying, with no added thickness anywhere.
If you are looking for an all-over print with a truly Nordic pattern, the red and gold interlacing medallion is its Scandinavian equivalent.
Choosing Your Size
These measurements are for the garment laid flat, not for your body. The width is measured from one armpit seam to the other; the chest circumference is this width multiplied by two. Please allow for a tolerance of one to two centimeters, as these garments are measured by hand.
| Size | Width (flat) | Chest circumference |
|---|---|---|
| 4 years (100 cm) | 29 cm | 58 cm |
| 5 years (110 cm) | 30 cm | 60 cm |
| 6 years (120 cm) | 32 cm | 64 cm |
| 8 years (130 cm) | 33 cm | 66 cm |
| 10 years (140 cm) | 34 cm | 68 cm |
| 12 years (150 cm) | 35 cm | 70 cm |
| 14 years (160 cm) | 36 cm | 72 cm |
| XXS | 38 cm | 76 cm |
| XS | 40 cm | 80 cm |
| S | 42 cm | 84 cm |
| M | 44 cm | 88 cm |
| L | 47 cm | 94 cm |
| XL | 50 cm | 100 cm |
| 2XL | 52 cm | 104 cm |
| 3XL | 54 cm | 108 cm |
| 4XL | 56 cm | 112 cm |
| 5XL | 58 cm | 116 cm |
| 6XL | 59 cm | 118 cm |
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt that you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Apply this number to the Width (flat) column: no calculations needed. You are thus comparing garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size — and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small, with narrower shoulders and a shorter body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word about the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, European ready-to-wear hardly uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not correspond to any common European size. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this department, a "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeters.

Did you know?
This pattern is not Nordic, and it is better to say so than to let people believe it. The coiled spirals, rows of small stylized human figures, and sawtooth friezes belong to the repertoire of Polynesian tattooing — Maori, Samoan, or Marquesan depending on the details. Scandinavian art from the Viking Age works differently: its motifs are ribbon-animals that intertwine and bite each other, never repeated geometric bands. The two traditions look similar at first glance because they fill space with the same generosity, but their grammar has nothing in common. If you want to learn how to distinguish them, our symbol guide is made for that.

Is this pattern Viking?
No. It draws on Polynesian tribal motifs — spirals, chevrons, spearheads. Norse art of the Viking Age uses interlaced ribbon-like animals, never repeated geometric bands.
Does this model come in kids' sizes?
Yes, seven kids' sizes from 4 to 14 years, then eleven adult sizes from XXS to 6XL. The kids' size labels show the child's height in parentheses — that is the manufacturer's reference. The chart above gives the chest measurement for each size.
Does this model fit like the others in the range?
No, and this is important: it runs noticeably smaller. Its XL corresponds to the S of the other all-over prints. Be sure to check the size chart.
Does the print cover the back?
Yes, completely, and the sleeves too. The patterned bands continue from one panel to the next without a break.
