This anthracite Viking bandana features its Vegvísir printed in a grey just slightly lighter than the background. From two meters away, it looks like a solid-colored bandana; as you get closer, the symbol appears. It is the most understated of the nine models in the range. What Sets This Bandana Apart
Tone on tone requires a precise value difference: too slight and it disappears, too strong and it is no longer tone on tone.

Did you know?
The manuscript that contains the Vegvísir also provides its instructions, and it is more modest than one might imagine: the Huld indicates that the sign must be traced “with blood on the forehead” of the one who wears it. There is no mention of a pendant, a tattoo, or an object to be carried. The symbol that we wear today as jewelry or clothing has therefore changed its medium as much as its era — and the version printed on textile is an entirely contemporary invention.

How to wear it
There is no size to choose. The bandana sits on the head and ties at the back with two flat ties sewn into the fabric. The knot sets the tightness: you decide whether it sits tight or loose.
The right move: place the front edge of the fabric against your forehead, bring the two ties behind your head, cross them under the base of your skull, then tie. The back flap then falls naturally onto the nape of your neck.
Under a helmet or a hood: the ties are flat and the fabric stays thin, which avoids pressure points. This is a common use for this type of bandana.
Care: hand wash at 30 °C, air dry. The fabric is light and dries quickly; avoid the tumble dryer, which sets the creases of the knot.
Is the design visible?
Only up close. The Vegvísir is printed in a gray barely lighter than the charcoal background: from two meters away, it looks like a plain bandana.
Why such a subtle design?
That's the whole idea of this model. Of the nine in the collection, it's the one that draws the least attention — useful when the setting doesn't lend itself to a flashy design.
Charcoal or black?
Charcoal: a very dark gray, slightly lighter than true black. The difference shows in daylight.
