A Green That Only Reveals Itself in Daylight
This Viking bandana is cut from a green so dark it passes for black in low light, only revealing its true color in full daylight. The entire surface is covered in a fine interlace mesh, upon which a golden Vegvísir is positioned at the crown of the head. It ties at the back with two flat straps. What Sets This Bandana Apart
Out of nine models, this is the only one whose color depends on the lighting.

Did you know?
Green was one of the most difficult colors to obtain before modern dyes: no plant provides it directly as a colorfast dye. Dyers used a two-bath process—first the yellow of weld, then the blue of woad—and the shade depended on the order and duration. A deep green therefore signaled double the work and a more expensive textile. Green fragments found in Scandinavian contexts are, in fact, significantly rarer than red or blue ones.

How to wear it
There is no size to choose. The bandana sits on the head and ties at the back with two flat ties sewn into the fabric. The knot sets the tightness: you decide whether it sits tight or loose.
The right move: place the front edge of the fabric against your forehead, bring the two ties behind your head, cross them under the base of your skull, then tie. The back flap then falls naturally onto the nape of your neck.
Under a helmet or a hood: the ties are flat and the fabric stays thin, which avoids pressure points. This is a common use for this type of bandana.
Care: hand wash at 30 °C, air dry. The fabric is light and dries quickly; avoid the tumble dryer, which sets the creases of the knot.
What color is the background?
A very dark green, almost black in dim light, that shows its green in full daylight. It is the darker of the two greens in the range.
What is the mesh pattern in the background?
A fine knotwork mesh printed over the entire surface, with the gold-tone Vegvísir laid on top. The background is never plain.
Is the gold the same as on the Yggdrasil designs?
Yes, the same matte gold ink. Here it is more subtle, because the green background absorbs more light than a true black.
