A Golden Tree on a Khaki Background
This viking bandana rests on the skull and ties at the back with two flat ties sewn into the fabric. On top — the only area that remains visible once tied — is a large golden Yggdrasil, with roots and foliage inscribed within a disc. Khaki green background, lightweight fabric. What Sets This Bandana Apart

Did you know?
Scandinavians of the Viking Age did indeed cover their heads, but with wool, not cotton: excavations at Hedeby and Jórvík have yielded fragments of headwear and caps made of wool twill, as well as silk caps from distant lands, worn in the wealthiest circles. No such bandana existed back then — it is a modern object. What archaeology does confirm, however, is the extreme care taken of hair: combs are among the most frequent objects found in graves.

How to wear it
There is no size to choose. The bandana sits on the head and ties at the back with two flat ties sewn into the fabric. The knot sets the tightness: you decide whether it sits tight or loose.
The right move: place the front edge of the fabric against your forehead, bring the two ties behind your head, cross them under the base of your skull, then tie. The back flap then falls naturally onto the nape of your neck.
Under a helmet or a hood: the ties are flat and the fabric stays thin, which avoids pressure points. This is a common use for this type of bandana.
Care: hand wash at 30 °C, air dry. The fabric is light and dries quickly; avoid the tumble dryer, which sets the creases of the knot.
