The Entire Tree in a Circle
This sand-colored Viking bandana features a golden Yggdrasil entirely enclosed within a disc, roots included—the other two world-tree bandanas have the design extending beyond the edges. The light background softens the gold, making it warm rather than sharp. It ties at the back with two flat straps. Find it in our Viking clothing section.
The two other versions are the khaki bandana and the black bandana.
What Sets This Bandana Apart
Three bandanas feature the world-tree. These are three different designs, not three colors.
- A contained tree: the only one of the three where the circle also encloses the roots—the composition is complete, not open.
- Light background: the gold becomes warm instead of striking, as it does on the black.
- Background texture: the sand color has a very light weave, perceptible from a few centimeters away.
- No adjustment: the knot determines the size.
For a light background with a different symbol, see the ecru Vegvísir bandana.

Did you know?
Yggdrasil is not alone in the texts: Norse mythology features other remarkable trees, often forgotten. Glasir, planted in front of the gates of Valhalla, bears foliage of entirely red gold according to Snorri—he describes it as the "most beautiful tree among gods and men." Læraðr grows on the roof of Odin's hall, and the goat Heiðrún grazes on its leaves to produce the mead of the warriors. The world-tree has overshadowed the other two in the modern imagination.

Cap or bandana: which one to choose?
| Type | How it stays on | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Tie bandana this product | Two flat ties knot at the back of the head. The knot does the tightening: nothing to adjust, nothing to squeeze. | To keep your hair back, protect yourself from the sun or wear it under a helmet. Nine designs, no size to choose. |
| Classic cap | Structured crown, pre-curved visor, adjustable strap at the back. | The shape everyone knows. Three models, two of them in four and five colors: the widest palette in the range. |
| Washed denim cap | The same structure, but a cotton canvas washed after dyeing: thicker, more matte, with a soft visor. | When you prefer a material that looks worn in from day one. Three models, each piece with its own washed shades. |
How to wear it
There is no size to choose. The bandana sits on the head and ties at the back with two flat ties sewn into the fabric. The knot sets the tightness: you decide whether it sits tight or loose.
The right move: place the front edge of the fabric against your forehead, bring the two ties behind your head, cross them under the base of your skull, then tie. The back flap then falls naturally onto the nape of your neck.
Under a helmet or a hood: the ties are flat and the fabric stays thin, which avoids pressure points. This is a common use for this type of bandana.
Care: hand wash at 30 °C, air dry. The fabric is light and dries quickly; avoid the tumble dryer, which sets the creases of the knot.
How does it differ from the two other Yggdrasil designs?
The background: light sand here, khaki green or black on the other two. The tree is the same, but the gold stands out more softly on a light background.
Is the sand color solid?
Almost: it has a very faint light texture, visible only up close.
Does it get dirty quickly?
More than a black model, like any light-colored fabric. The polyester can be hand-washed at 30 °C and dries quickly.
Is the circle around the tree complete?
Yes, the tree sits entirely within a circle, roots included — it is the only one of the three Yggdrasil designs like this.
