Two Birds, Nine Points

Did you know?
The arrangement of two animals mirrored on either side of an axis has a name in art history: antithetic composition. It is much older than the Viking Age and comes from the Near East, where it can be found as early as the 3rd millennium BCE. It reached Scandinavia through provincial Roman art and Germanic migrations, then merged into the local vocabulary. It is one of the rare Nordic decorative patterns whose import route can be traced.

Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the tank tops in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a tank top or a T-shirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
Available sizes vary by model. Thirteen tank tops go from S to 6XL, two from S to 5XL, and the muscle-cut one stops at 2XL. Check the drop-down list on the product page before ordering: it is the one that counts.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
Are the two ravens identical?
They're mirror images, perched on either side, beaks turned outward. Below them is a Valknut set within a ring of runes.
Doesn't a white tank top get dirty too easily at the gym?
More than a black one, to be honest. The polyester washes easily at 30 °C and dries quickly; avoid the tumble dryer, which sets sweat marks.
What's on the back?
A circular medallion highlighted in red, the garment's only touch of color.
Is the white opaque?
It's a fine polyester knit. Like any light-colored, lightweight fabric, it remains slightly see-through in bright light.
