What You See When Leaving
This Viking tank top splits its two motifs between the front and the back. On the front: a raven with wings spread, perched above a Valknut encircled by runes. On the back: a bearded, helmeted warrior's skull, drawn in lines like an etching. Off-white and black, with no other colors. Find it in our Viking tank top collection.
For the same palette without any skulls, see the two-raven model.
What Sets This Tank Top Apart
Most printed clothing puts its best design on the front. This one does the opposite.
- The main subject is on the back: the helmeted skull is the centerpiece of the design, and it is only revealed when you turn your back.
- A sober front: raven and symbol, no skull — the garment remains wearable in all circumstances from the front.
- Etching style: fine hatching rather than solid blocks of color, which adds volume without gradients.
- Off-white: a slightly grayed background that ages better than optical white.
For an unmistakable skull on the front, see the axe model, which also features a skull on the back.

Did You Know?
The skull is not part of the decorative vocabulary of the Viking Age: Scandinavian art from this period depicts ribbon animals, almost never bones. However, there is a very real and often misquoted written account — the custom of drinking "from the skulls" of enemies. It comes from a poor 17th-century translation: the Old Norse ór bjúgviðum hausa means "from the curved branches of the skull," i.e., horns. The Vikings drank from horns, not from heads.

Which tank top to choose?
| Type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| All-over print, black and white this product | The design covers the whole garment, front and back, in two bold tones without color. | The core of the range: nine designs, from S to 6XL, the widest size range of the three families. |
| All-over print, gold or color | The same full coverage, but with gold, brick red or slate blue. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Four models, the most striking in the series, and the only ones that go beyond black and white. |
| Stretch knit or muscle cut | Two models whose knit contains elastane and moves with you, plus one muscle-cut model that covers the shoulder. | When the garment is really for training, or if thin straps don't suit you. Note: the muscle cut stops at 2XL. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the tank tops in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a tank top or a T-shirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
Available sizes vary by model. Thirteen tank tops go from S to 6XL, two from S to 5XL, and the muscle-cut one stops at 2XL. Check the drop-down list on the product page before ordering: it is the one that counts.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
Is the skull on the front?
No, it is on the back. The front shows a raven with open wings above a Valknut ringed with runes; the bearded, helmeted skull only appears from behind.
Is the skull realistic?
It is a line drawing in an engraving style, with a braided beard and a helmet. It is not an anatomical illustration.
Is it suitable for someone who is put off by skulls?
From the front, the design has none. If the image still bothers you, the two-raven model uses the same palette without a skull.
Is the background pure white?
A slightly off-white, which softens the contrast with the black linework.
