A Shield, Two Axes, a Hammer
This Viking tank top brings together a full arsenal: a round shield engraved with a Valknut at the center of the chest, two axes crossed behind it, and a Mjölnir placed beneath the whole assembly, handle pointing down. On the back, a horned skull over two crossed bones, framed by two banners. Grey and white on black. Find it in our collection of Viking tank tops.
At the exact opposite end, the grey Vegvísir is made to go unnoticed.
What Sets This Tank Top Apart
Stacking four objects on a chest often ends up looking cluttered. Here, the shield serves as an anchor point.
- A held hierarchy: the shield in the foreground, the axes behind, the hammer below — three depths on a flat surface.
- The only text in the line: the two banners on the back are the only legible wording among the sixteen models.
- A simulated bulge: shading gives the shield a volume that the perfectly smooth fabric does not have.
- Nine sizes: from S to 6XL.
For the same symbol without weapons, see the Valknut and torches.

Did You Know?
Viking shields were not the thick boards shown in movies. The thirty-two examples found in the Gokstad ship in Norway measure about 94 centimeters in diameter and are barely 7 millimeters thick at the center—thin fir planks assembled edge-to-edge, with an iron boss and, in all likelihood, a leather-reinforced rim. It was an active defensive weapon, made to deflect and to break, not a wall to be carried on the arm.

Which tank top to choose?
| Type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| All-over print, black and white this product | The design covers the whole garment, front and back, in two bold tones without color. | The core of the range: nine designs, from S to 6XL, the widest size range of the three families. |
| All-over print, gold or color | The same full coverage, but with gold, brick red or slate blue. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Four models, the most striking in the series, and the only ones that go beyond black and white. |
| Stretch knit or muscle cut | Two models whose knit contains elastane and moves with you, plus one muscle-cut model that covers the shoulder. | When the garment is really for training, or if thin straps don't suit you. Note: the muscle cut stops at 2XL. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the tank tops in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a tank top or a T-shirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
Available sizes vary by model. Thirteen tank tops go from S to 6XL, two from S to 5XL, and the muscle-cut one stops at 2XL. Check the drop-down list on the product page before ordering: it is the one that counts.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
How many weapons are in the design?
Two axes crossed behind the shield, and a Thor's hammer placed below the whole group, handle pointing down.
What is on the back?
A horned skull above two crossed bones, framed by two banners reading “Sons of Odin” and “Valhalla”.
Is the shield raised?
No, everything is printed flat. The shield's apparent curve comes only from the shading in the drawing.
Is the design in color?
No, only grays and white on a black background.
