The Warrior and His Death, Face to Face
This Viking tank top features two helmeted heads opposing each other in the center of the chest: on the left, a bearded warrior, alive, with fur-covered shoulders; on the right, a skull wearing the same helmet. Between them is an upright Mjölnir; below them, a triskelion made of drinking horns. Everything is line-engraved in gray and white on black. Find it in our Viking tank top collection.
For a lone warrior face, rendered in color, see the red and gold model.
What Sets This Tank Top Apart
Most garments in this category simply juxtapose symbols. This one constructs an opposition.
- Two states of the same man: the living and the dead wear the same helmet and beard. The design tells a story rather than just decorating.
- The finest line work in the range: locks of hair, fur, and rivets are drawn individually—visible from thirty centimeters away.
- Vertical composition: hammer at the top, heads in the center, triskelion at the bottom—three levels along the axis of the torso.
- No color: gray and white on black, which leaves full focus on the artwork.
For another highly detailed design, but on a light background, see the raven triskelion.

Did you know?
Thor's hammer is the only Norse symbol whose rise can be dated with precision—and it owes its popularity to Christianity. Mjölnir-shaped pendants became common in Scandinavia in the 10th century, exactly as the Christian cross began to spread there. Archaeologists view this as a response: faced with a sign worn around the neck, followers of the old faith adopted one of their own. In fact, a mold found in Denmark allowed both to be cast in the same operation—the metalworker did not pick a side.

Which tank top to choose?
| Type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| All-over print, black and white this product | The design covers the whole garment, front and back, in two bold tones without color. | The core of the range: nine designs, from S to 6XL, the widest size range of the three families. |
| All-over print, gold or color | The same full coverage, but with gold, brick red or slate blue. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Four models, the most striking in the series, and the only ones that go beyond black and white. |
| Stretch knit or muscle cut | Two models whose knit contains elastane and moves with you, plus one muscle-cut model that covers the shoulder. | When the garment is really for training, or if thin straps don't suit you. Note: the muscle cut stops at 2XL. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the tank tops in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a tank top or a T-shirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
Available sizes vary by model. Thirteen tank tops go from S to 6XL, two from S to 5XL, and the muscle-cut one stops at 2XL. Check the drop-down list on the product page before ordering: it is the one that counts.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
Are the two warriors identical?
No, and that is the whole point: the one on the left is alive, bearded and helmeted; the one on the right is a skull wearing the same helmet. The design sets the warrior against his own death.
What is above them?
A Mjölnir, Thor's hammer, standing vertically between the two heads, handle pointing up.
And at the bottom of the garment?
A triskele of horns, three interlaced drinking horns, drawn in light lines on the black.
Is the design very detailed?
It is the most finely engraved in the section: the strands of the beards, the furs on the shoulders and the rivets on the helmets are all drawn in line.
