A Dragon That Embraces the Whole Ear
This dragon ear cuff in stainless steel runs from the helix to the lobe, with a coiled body and engraved scales. It sits on the cartilage and stays in place by its own shape: no piercing required. Find this product in our Viking earrings collection.
For a winged variant of the same principle, see our coiled dragon ear cuff.
What Sets This Piece Apart
It is the most encompassing piece in the department, and it is meant to be worn alone.
- Sold individually: this model is worn on the left ear; it is the only version available.
- No piercing: it slides along the edge of the ear and adjusts with pressure.
- Continuous body: the dragon follows the entire curve, from the helix to behind the lobe.
- Sculpted scales: the relief runs across the entire body, with no flat areas.
To stay within the Norse bestiary with a classic ring, look at our Jörmungandr hoop earrings.

Did you know?
The carved prows of Scandinavian ships gave their name to "drakkars"—from the Old Norse dreki, meaning dragon. However, the word "drakkar" itself is a 19th-century French invention, mistakenly formed from the plural drekar: the Scandinavians called them langskip, or "longship." Just another example of Viking vocabulary that originated long after the Vikings—like the horned helmet or the kraken.

Can I wear it on my right ear?
No, our manufacturer only makes this model in a left-ear version. If you want to choose your side, go for our coiled dragon cuff or the serpent cuff.
Do I need a piercing?
None at all. It slides along the rim of the ear and stays in place through pressure on the cartilage.
Is the word “drakkar” period-accurate?
No, it is a 19th-century French invention, mistakenly formed from the Old Norse plural drekar. Scandinavians said langskip, “long ship.”
Is it heavy to wear?
No. Stainless steel stays light and the weight is spread along the whole rim of the ear, not on a single point like a pierced earring.
