Fenrir in His Rune Circle
This Viking sweatshirt features a frontal wolf head centered within a large disk bordered by runes, set against a black garment. The fur is drawn strand by strand in shades of gray, and the sleeves are covered in lighter animal-style interlace patterns. No color: only gray on black. Find it in our Viking sweatshirt collection.
For wolves depicted in a scene rather than a portrait, see the Sköll and Hati model.
What Sets This Sweatshirt Apart
The level of detail is what separates a decent textile print from a good one. This one holds up to close inspection.
- Detailed fur: the wolf's strands are drawn individually, not suggested by a flat gray fill — this is visible from thirty centimeters away.
- Complete runic border: the disk is encircled by a ring of regular characters, giving the medallion the look of an engraved object.
- Fully covered sleeves: the interlace patterns rise from the wrist to the shoulder with no empty zones or visible seams.
- Blended knit: acrylic, polyester, and elastane — more supple and elastic than polyester alone.
For another medallion, treated in tone-on-tone and much more discreet, see the runic medallion.

Did you know?
Fenrir is not killed at Ragnarök: he is the killer. The Völuspá depicts him devouring Odin, and it is the god's son, Víðarr, who avenges him by crushing the wolf's jaw — with a booted foot, Snorri specifies, a boot made from all the leather scraps that men have trimmed from their soles throughout time. The detail remains famous because it is domestic amidst an apocalypse: the end of the world is decided by a shoe made by anonymous cobblers.

Which print style to choose?
| Print type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Placed design | The body of the sweatshirt stays plain: the design is limited to the chest, the sleeves and the back. | When you want to wear the garment without the design ruling your day. It is also the only model available in fourteen color and ink combinations. |
| All-over print | The fabric is printed before assembly: front, back, sleeves, hood and right up to the seams. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Fifteen different designs, all in polyester, from 2XS to 4XL. |
| All-over print, finer artwork this product | The same full coverage, but a more detailed drawing and an acrylic, polyester and elastane knit. | When you look at a garment up close before buying it, or if polyester alone feels too stiff. Sizes up to 5XL, and up to 6XL for the zip-up model. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the sweatshirts in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a sweatshirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
Is the whole wolf shown?
No, only the head, facing forward, set inside a large disc bordered with runes that takes up the center of the chest.
Is the design in color?
No, everything is rendered in shades of gray on a black background: it is the most monochrome of the detailed prints in the section.
What are the patterns on the sleeves?
Dense animal knotwork, lighter than the background, covering both arms down to the wrists without a break.
Is this knit itchy?
No. Here the acrylic is blended with polyester in a knit that is brushed on the inside and soft to the touch.
