Two Wolves, a Sun, a Moon
This all-over print Viking sweatshirt tells the story of a chase: two wolves sprinting across the garment, one toward the sun, the other toward the moon. The design is entirely black and white, with no halftones, featuring a light front where the wolf stands out in black and a back that reverses the contrast. Find it in our Viking sweatshirt collection.
For a wolf treated as a medallion rather than a scene, see the Grey Fenrir medallion hoodie.
What Sets This Sweatshirt Apart
Most Nordic sweatshirts saturate the fabric with patterns. This one does the opposite: it leaves large empty areas so that the wolves' silhouettes stand out.
- Two colors, zero gradients: black and white, nothing in between. This is what makes the pattern legible from several meters away, where grayscale prints become blurry.
- Asymmetrical composition: the front and back are not symmetrical and do not tell the same story—the garment can be viewed from two angles.
- Celestial bodies rendered as flat shapes: the sun and the moon are two solid discs, with no rays or craters. This is the Nordic graphic vocabulary, not astronomical illustration.
- Covered sleeves: the interlacing patterns continue to the cuffs, with no solid areas to break the continuity.
In a similarly high-contrast style, the symmetrical interlace model focuses on repetition rather than a scene.

Did you know?
Snorri Sturluson's Gylfaginning names two distinct wolves: Sköll, who chases the sun, and Hati Hróðvitnisson, who chases the moon. However, the Grímnismál, an older poem from the Poetic Edda, only mentions Sköll and Hati without clearly assigning each a specific celestial body—and a third name, Mánagarmr, "the moon's hound," appears elsewhere in Snorri's work to describe what could be the same animal. Philologists still debate whether these are two wolves, three, or a single story that diverged during transmission.

Which print style to choose?
| Print type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Placed design | The body of the sweatshirt stays plain: the design is limited to the chest, the sleeves and the back. | When you want to wear the garment without the design ruling your day. It is also the only model available in fourteen color and ink combinations. |
| All-over print this product | The fabric is printed before assembly: front, back, sleeves, hood and right up to the seams. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Fifteen different designs, all in polyester, from 2XS to 4XL. |
| All-over print, finer artwork | The same full coverage, but a more detailed drawing and an acrylic, polyester and elastane knit. | When you look at a garment up close before buying it, or if polyester alone feels too stiff. Sizes up to 5XL, and up to 6XL for the zip-up model. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the sweatshirts in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a sweatshirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
What do the two wolves represent?
Sköll and Hati, the wolves of Norse mythology who chase the sun and the moon across the sky. The design places them on either side of the garment, each facing its heavenly body.
Are the black and the white evenly split?
No. The front is mostly white with the wolf in black; the back reverses the balance. It is an asymmetrical garment, designed to be seen from both sides.
Does the white get dirty quickly?
It is printed polyester: stains come out in a 30 °C wash without much trouble, but a light-colored garment is still a light-colored garment. Air-drying is recommended.
Is there a design on the hood?
Yes, the print continues onto the hood and inside it, following on from the back.
