A Stitched Rune, Not Printed
This Viking cap features a circle of runes on the front, enclosing the Algiz rune, entirely embroidered into the fabric. The thread is single-toned, creating a clean pattern without a flashy effect. What Sets This Cap Apart
Embroidery and printing do not age the same way: one peels off, the other does not.
- Embroidered design: the thread is stitched into the mesh. It does not crack or peel off in the wash, unlike a printed transfer.
- Five colors: natural, pink, blue, red, and black—the only one in the department to offer something other than dark tones.
- Tone-on-tone embroidery: the thread is close to the fabric color, making the design legible up close and discreet from afar.

Did you know?
Algiz belongs to the Elder Futhark, the alphabet of twenty-four signs used from the 2nd to the 8th century—therefore before the Viking Age. When the longships took to the sea, the Scandinavians were already writing with the Younger Futhark, reduced to sixteen characters, where the Algiz rune changed shape and phonetic value: it turned upside down and now denotes a final r. The rune seen everywhere today under the name Algiz is therefore, strictly speaking, pre-Viking.

Choosing your size
There is no size to choose. The six caps in this range are one adult size, adjusted with a strap at the back. They fit the vast majority of head sizes, from the smallest to the largest.
If you still hesitate: measure your head with a soft tape measure, just above the ears and eyebrows. A circumference between 54 and 60 cm fits easily within the adjustment range. Above 62 cm, the strap reaches its limit.
The three washed denim models (Yggdrasil, Odin and Valhalla) have a softer visor than the other three and bend without breaking. It is a difference in feel, not in size.
Care: hand wash at 30 °C only. Machine washing and spinning distort the visor, and the tumble dryer marks the washed fabrics.
Is the design embroidered or printed?
Embroidered. The runic circle and the Algiz rune are stitched into the fabric in a single-color thread — you can feel the raised thread under your finger, unlike a print.
Is the cap adjustable?
Yes, with a strap at the back. It fits most adult head sizes; there are no sizes to choose from.
What does the Algiz rune mean?
Algiz is the fifteenth rune of the Elder Futhark. It's traditionally associated with the idea of protection — but that's a modern reading, as ancient sources don't give runes a fixed meaning.
Is the brim curved or flat?
Curved and pre-shaped. It's a classic cap cut, not a flat-brim cap.
