Did you know?
The drinking horn was a status symbol among the Vikings. During blóts (sacred rituals), chieftains raised their mead-filled horns to honor the gods Odin, Thor and Freyr. The first toast, called “minni”, was always drunk to the gods, the second to departed ancestors, and the third to victories to come. Owning a fine drinking horn was a sign of wealth and prestige in Norse society.
