Three Steel Cords, Nothing More
This three-twisted-ring ear cuff has no figurative motifs: three braided steel cords, layered together, forming an open ring that clips onto the cartilage. It is the most understated piece in the collection, and one that pairs with everything else. Find this product in our Viking earrings collection.
It has a direct cousin for the lobe: our minimalist twisted hoop earrings, which use the same design language.
What Sets This Piece Apart
On a piece without a motif, quality is judged solely by the metal and the build.
- True twist: the cords are shaped in relief, not printed onto a flat band—the light catches differently on each strand.
- Three solid rows: the width provides presence without adding weight, which is decisive for a cartilage piece.
- No piercing: goes on and off in a second, ideal for testing the style before getting a helix piercing.
- Stainless steel: no tarnishing or green residue, even when worn continuously.
To add a motif in the same spot without changing style, the skull ear cuff with a wide ring occupies the same area.

Did you know?
Twisted wire is one of the few motifs in this category that is truly Viking. Bracelets, necklaces, and arm rings made of twisted silver rods are found by the hundreds in Scandinavian and insular hoards. The most spectacular is the Cuerdale hoard, unearthed in 1840 on the bank of the River Ribble in Lancashire: nearly 8,600 items, about forty kilos of silver, buried around 905 AD. It contains coins, but primarily twisted bracelets and hacksilver—silverware cut into pieces to be weighed. These rings were not just jewelry: they served as a store of value, which could be sliced when needed for payment.

Is this cuff suitable for a man?
Yes, in fact it is one of the pieces in the range most often worn by men: no motif, no stone, just worked metal. It goes with anything, including in a professional setting.
How do I adjust it if it slips?
Pinch the ring very gently between your thumb and index finger to narrow the opening, with small successive presses. Do not force it all at once: steel does not bend easily, so it is better to go step by step.
Can it be worn on the earlobe?
Yes, if the earlobe is not too thick. It is designed for the cartilage, which is thinner. On a fleshy earlobe it will tend to loosen.
Can the twist catch in my hair?
The strands are rounded and closed, with no sharp edges or loose ends, so the risk is low. As with any cuff, just be careful when pulling on a turtleneck sweater.
