A Dragon from Collar to Waist
This Viking sweatshirt displays a large Nordic dragon across the entire front, its body tied in interlace, jaws agape, eyes highlighted in red—the garment's only color. The entire background is treated with dark scales, and the back features a printed cartouche. Find it in our Viking sweatshirt collection.
For two facing dragons in a warmer palette, see the red and black model.
What Sets This Sweatshirt Apart
A ribbon-animal occupying an entire torso requires a tight composition, or else it loses itself in its own knotwork.
- A legible body: despite the knots, you can follow the dragon from head to tail—this is the test that many prints of this kind fail.
- A single touch of color: the red of the eyes is the only chromatic deviation. It anchors the gaze without coloring the garment.
- Scale background: the fabric appears textured up close while being perfectly smooth—a depth achieved through the design, not the material.
- A word, not a symbol: the back cartouche is the only text in this category, for those who prefer the explicit.
In a similarly dark register, the runic medallion plays on tone-on-tone.

Did you know?
The carved prows of Scandinavian ships were not permanent ornaments. The Úlfljótslög, the oldest Icelandic law we have a record of, required crews to remove the dragon head before approaching the coast—so as not to frighten the landvættir, the protective spirits of the land. A figurehead was therefore a psychological weapon mounted and removed depending on the destination, not the fixed decoration seen in movies.

Which print style to choose?
| Print type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Placed design | The body of the sweatshirt stays plain: the design is limited to the chest, the sleeves and the back. | When you want to wear the garment without the design ruling your day. It is also the only model available in fourteen color and ink combinations. |
| All-over print this product | The fabric is printed before assembly: front, back, sleeves, hood and right up to the seams. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Fifteen different designs, all in polyester, from 2XS to 4XL. |
| All-over print, finer artwork | The same full coverage, but a more detailed drawing and an acrylic, polyester and elastane knit. | When you look at a garment up close before buying it, or if polyester alone feels too stiff. Sizes up to 5XL, and up to 6XL for the zip-up model. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the sweatshirts in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a sweatshirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
What is written on the hood?
The word “Viking”, printed in a cartouche on the back of the hood. It is a print, not embroidery: the surface stays smooth.
Is the dragon on the front or the back?
The large dragon takes up the front, its body stretching from the collar to the waist. The back carries the cartouche and a composition of scales.
Is there any red in the design?
Just one touch: the dragon's eyes and mouth are highlighted in red. Everything else is black and white.
Are the scales printed on the whole garment?
Yes, the entire background is covered in dark scales, including the sleeves, which gives the fabric a texture you can see up close.
