A Maw Open on Embers
This Viking wolf t-shirt is the most aggressive in our selection: a white wolf with its mouth open occupies the entire chest, fangs bared, on a black background cracked with red like heated rock. Other wolves appear in the background on either side. The print is all-over. Find this model in our viking t-shirt collection.
For the same intensity with a wolf at rest, the facing white wolf is calmer.
What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
A front design of this size depends on depth: without a background, the animal would look pasted onto the fabric.
- Three layers: the main wolf, two companions in the background, and the bed of embers—the depth comes from this, not from a shadow effect.
- Red cracks: the network of incandescent fissures extends down to the hem and covers the bottom of the garment, which is often left empty on this type of print.
- Sublimation: deep reds and sharp whites coexist without bleeding, which requires ink set into the fiber.
- Lightweight polyester: maximum contrast remains stable over time, whereas cotton dulls the whites and mutes the reds.
If you prefer the same animal rendered in line art rather than painting, the raven in the ink circle shows the other extreme of our selection.
Choosing Your Size
These measurements are for the garment laid flat, not your body. The width is taken from one armpit seam to the other; the chest circumference is this width multiplied by two. Allow for a tolerance of one to two centimeters: these garments are measured by hand. The manufacturer does not provide measurements for XS.
| Size | Flat width | Chest circumference |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 48 cm | 96 cm |
| S | 50 cm | 100 cm |
| M | 53 cm | 106 cm |
| L | 56 cm | 112 cm |
| XL | 59 cm | 118 cm |
| 2XL | 62 cm | 124 cm |
| 3XL | 65 cm | 130 cm |
| 4XL | 68 cm | 136 cm |
| 5XL | 71 cm | 142 cm |
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already own and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this number in the Flat width column: no calculations required. You are thus comparing one garment to another, without relying on a theoretical size—and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, standard Western ready-to-wear rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL do not correspond to any standard Western size. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this selection, a "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not rely on the letter, rely on the centimeter.

Did you know?
One common misconception must be debunked: Vikings did not wear animal figures on their clothing. Preserved textiles—those from Birka in Sweden, those from the Oseberg ship in Norway—show tablet-woven braids, i.e., narrow bands with geometric patterns, chevrons, diamonds, and sometimes spun gold. Animal figures do exist in Nordic art, but they were engraved, carved, or cast: on wood, stone, bone, and metal. Clothing, meanwhile, was adorned at its borders. All-over printing is a technical possibility of the 20th century, not a historical reconstruction.

Is the design very eye-catching?
It is the boldest in the section. The wolf fills the whole chest and the embers run down to the hem.
Is there one wolf or several?
Three: one in the foreground, jaws open, and two others set back on either side.
Did the Vikings wear clothing with animal designs?
No. The textiles found at Birka and Oseberg show tablet-woven bands with geometric patterns. Animal figures were engraved or cast, not worn on fabric.
Could the red run onto light-colored laundry?
No, the ink is sublimated into the fiber. A wash at 30 °C does not make it bleed.
