Howling Before the Red Moon

What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
The lunar disc is a genre cliché; what changes everything is its placement and color.
- Off-center disc: the moon is not in the middle of the chest but slightly offset, which breaks the symmetry and makes the composition feel less static.
- Muted red: a dark red rather than scarlet: the white wolf stands out against it without the overall look becoming poster-like.
- Sublimation: the halo around the disc features a continuous gradient, impossible to achieve cleanly with screen printing.
- Lightweight polyester: the white of the wolf remains crisp wash after wash, which printed cotton quickly loses.
For a more brutal look, the wolf on a bed of embers takes the red much further.
Choosing Your Size
These measurements are for the garment laid flat, not your body. The width is measured from one armpit seam to the other; the chest circumference is this width multiplied by two. Allow for a tolerance of one to two centimeters: these garments are measured by hand. The manufacturer does not provide measurements for XS.

The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already own and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this number in the Width flat column: no calculations needed. This allows you to compare garment to garment without relying on a theoretical size — and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of equivalent size. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, standard off-the-rack clothing rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not correspond to any standard size. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this range, a "L" can go from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.

Two wolves chase celestial bodies in Norse mythology, and the Grímnismál names them: Sköll runs after the sun, Hati after the moon. They never catch them — until Ragnarök, when they finally succeed. The detail most people ignore is that in Norse texts, the sun is a woman, Sól, and the moon is a man, Máni. It is the opposite of the Greco-Latin convention from which English has inherited. A wolf howling at the moon, in a Scandinavian context, is therefore howling after a male god being pursued by another wolf — the image is significantly less romantic than our habits suggest.
