A Wolf in the Blue Night
This Viking wolf t-shirt is the only one in the collection with a midnight blue background. The wolf's head is rendered in deep blue with red highlights in the eye and fur, set against a crescent moon and intricate knotwork. The print is all-over, and the nocturnal hue continues onto the back and sleeves. Find this model in our Viking t-shirts collection.
For a wolf rendered in bright turquoise rather than deep blue, see the turquoise wolf.
What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
Midnight blue is the most difficult color to print: if it's too light, it turns to denim; if it's too dark, it becomes a failed black.
- Vibrant blue: the shade remains distinctly blue even indoors, where many dark prints read as black as soon as you leave daylight.
- Red accents: just two warm spots, in the eye and on the spine, which are enough to bring the design to life.
- Sublimation: the nocturnal gradients transition without visible steps, something no screen printing can achieve on such a large surface.
- Lightweight polyester: the only material that holds a saturated blue without it turning grey after a few months.
If you are looking for the same subject in a warm palette, the wolf in front of the red moon is its exact opposite.
Choosing Your Size
These measurements are for the garment laid flat, not for your body. The width is taken from one armpit seam to the other; the chest circumference is this width multiplied by two. Please allow for a tolerance of one to two centimeters: these garments are measured by hand. The manufacturer does not provide measurements for XS.
| Size | Flat Width | Chest Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 48 cm | 96 cm |
| S | 50 cm | 100 cm |
| M | 53 cm | 106 cm |
| L | 56 cm | 112 cm |
| XL | 59 cm | 118 cm |
| 2XL | 62 cm | 124 cm |
| 3XL | 65 cm | 130 cm |
| 4XL | 68 cm | 136 cm |
| 5XL | 71 cm | 142 cm |
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already own and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this number in the Flat Width column: no calculations needed. You are thus comparing garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size — and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The fit runs small: narrower at the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of an equivalent size. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, standard French ready-to-wear clothing rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not refer to any standard French size. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this category, an "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not rely on the letter, rely on the centimeter.

Did you know?
The wolf is the most ambiguous animal in Norse law. The word vargr designates both the beast and the outlaw: to proclaim someone vargr í véum, "wolf in sacred places," meant to banish them from the community and authorize anyone to kill them without compensation. The sagas also use skógarmaðr, "forest man," for the same status. Being declared a wolf was therefore not a poetic image: it was a legal penalty, the heaviest after death, and modern Icelandic has kept the word útlagi to mean outlaw.

Is the background really blue, or more black?
Clearly midnight blue. It is the only model in our range in this shade, and it still reads as blue even indoors.
Is there a lot of red?
No, just two accents: the eye and part of the spine. The rest is blue and black.
Why is the wolf so present in Viking imagery?
Because it is ambivalent: Odin's companion under the names Geri and Freki, a destroyer under the name Fenrir, and a legal term for an outlaw — vargr means both.
Does this model fit like the other all-over prints?
Yes, the size chart is the same for all the polyester models in our range, from XXS to 5XL. The chart is shown above.
