Two Wolves Placed on the Shoulders
This viking wolf t-shirt shifts the composition upwards: two wolves face each other at the shoulders, muzzles turned towards the collar, while the torso remains dark and a Nordic frieze closes the hem. This is the only model in the department whose main motif is read primarily from the back and from a three-quarter angle. Find this model in our viking t-shirts collection.
For the same pair of wolves placed in the center of the chest, see the confronting wolves with Vegvísir.
What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
Placing a motif on the shoulder changes everything: it is visible from the back, in profile, and in motion, whereas a chest motif is only read from the front.
- Shoulder motif: the two heads occupy the line of the trapezius, so they remain visible even when wearing an open jacket.
- Uncluttered torso: the center of the chest remains understated, which makes this model significantly more discreet than other all-over prints.
- Hem frieze: a geometric band closes the bottom of the garment — a rare detail that recalls the woven braids found in excavations.
- Lightweight polyester: sublimated print, flexible, with no extra thickness on the shoulder seams, which are the most stressed areas.
If the hem motif interests you, the red and gold interlace medallion also works with borders.
Choosing Your Size
These measurements are for the garment laid flat, not your body. The width is taken from one armpit seam to the other; the chest circumference is this width multiplied by two. Allow for a tolerance of one to two centimeters: these garments are measured by hand. The manufacturer does not provide measurements for the XS.
| Size | Width laid flat | Chest circumference |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 48 cm | 96 cm |
| S | 50 cm | 100 cm |
| M | 53 cm | 106 cm |
| L | 56 cm | 112 cm |
| XL | 59 cm | 118 cm |
| 2XL | 62 cm | 124 cm |
| 3XL | 65 cm | 130 cm |
| 4XL | 68 cm | 136 cm |
| 5XL | 71 cm | 142 cm |
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already wear that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this figure in the Width laid flat column: no calculations needed. This way, you compare garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size — and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of an equivalent size. If between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, ready-to-wear clothing rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not correspond to any common standard. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this category, an "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.

Did you know?
The geometric frieze that closes the hem of this model is the only element in the department that truly resembles what Scandinavians wore during the Viking Age. Excavations in Birka, Sweden, have yielded dozens of fragments of tablet-woven braids — a technique where the warp thread passes through perforated tablets that are rotated — some brocaded with silver or gold thread. These bands adorned the borders: necklines, cuffs, and hems. The body of the garment remained plain, dyed with plant-based dyes: madder for red, weld for yellow, woad for blue.

Can the design be seen from the front?
Partly: the muzzles of the two wolves show at the top of the chest. Most of the design reads from a three-quarter angle and from the back.
Is it the most discreet of the all-over prints?
Along with the tone-on-tone Mjölnir, yes. The center of the torso stays dark and understated.
What is the frieze along the hem?
It evokes the tablet-woven bands found at Birka, which decorated the edges of Scandinavian clothing: necklines, cuffs and hems.
What colors did the Vikings use on their textiles?
Plant dyes: madder for red, weld for yellow, woad for blue. The body of the garment stayed plain.
