A Compass Extended by Runes
This Viking Vegvísir t-shirt features the runic compass in a very fine white line on the chest, then extends it downwards with a column of runic staves that runs down to the stomach. No flat colors, no ink fills: only lines, in the style of a fine-line tattoo. Find this model in our Viking t-shirt collection.

What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
Fine-line screen printing is an exercise in precision: below a certain thickness, the ink does not adhere to the fabric.
- Consistent line: the same thickness from the center of the compass to the bottom of the runic column, which gives the design its drawn appearance rather than a printed one.
- T-composition: the circle at the top, the column at the bottom: a vertical silhouette that elongates the torso.
- No ink fill: the fabric breathes through the motif, without the rigid zone created by a large surface area of ink.
- Cotton: the most consistent surface for a fine line, and the one on which it lasts the longest.
In the same vein of minimalist design, the iron gray Odin emblem shares the same restraint.
Choosing Your Size
The manufacturer does not provide a measurement chart for this model. Rather than leaving you without a reference, here is an estimated range, calculated from two adult size charts documented for other models in the department. These are orders of magnitude, not guaranteed measurements—we prefer to be upfront about this.
| Size | Flat Width | Chest Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| S | 49 to 51 cm | 98 to 102 cm |
| M | 51 to 54 cm | 102 to 108 cm |
| L | 53 to 57 cm | 106 to 114 cm |
| XL | 55 to 60 cm | 110 to 120 cm |
| 2XL | 57 to 63 cm | 114 to 126 cm |
| 3XL | 59 to 66 cm | 118 to 132 cm |
| 4XL | 61 to 69 cm | 122 to 138 cm |
| 5XL | 63 to 72 cm | 126 to 144 cm |
| 6XL | 65 to 75 cm | 130 to 150 cm |
The range widens for larger sizes because the two known charts diverge from XL onwards: one increases by 4 cm per size, the other by 6.
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already wear that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this figure into the Flat Width column: no calculations needed. You are thus comparing garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size—and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of equivalent size. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, off-the-rack Western clothing practically doesn't use them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not refer to any common standard size. Worse, the same letter doesn't mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this department, an "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.

Did you know?
The Vegvísir has a real history, but it is much shorter than claimed. It only appears in the Huld manuscript, compiled in Iceland in 1860 by Geir Vigfússon, which collects galdrastafir—Icelandic magical signs. The accompanying text promises the bearer that they will not lose their way in bad weather. Eight centuries separate this manuscript from the Viking Age, and no excavation has ever yielded this design. It is therefore not a Viking compass: it is a 19th-century Icelandic talisman, which is a real tradition in its own right—just not the one it is attributed to.

Do the runes in the column spell a word?
No, they are decorative rune staves. We will not attribute a translation to them.
