A Longship Under Tricolor Sails
This viking cap features a longship in profile on the front, shields aligned along the hull, with a square sail displaying the three stripes of the French flag. What Sets This Cap Apart
It is the only printed cap in the department, and it’s no coincidence: thread doesn't render solid colors well.

Did you know?
Shields aligned along longships are historically documented, but not while sailing. The Gokstad ship features a row of supports along its gunwales where thirty-two shields were attached, painted alternately yellow and black. Archaeologists believe this was a parade arrangement, mounted when approaching a port or for a funeral ceremony: at sea, the shields would have obstructed the oars and caught sea spray. The image of a shield-laden longship speeding over waves is therefore accurate in its detail, but inaccurate in its context.

Choosing your size
There is no size to choose. The six caps in this range are one adult size, adjusted with a strap at the back. They fit the vast majority of head sizes, from the smallest to the largest.
If you still hesitate: measure your head with a soft tape measure, just above the ears and eyebrows. A circumference between 54 and 60 cm fits easily within the adjustment range. Above 62 cm, the strap reaches its limit.
The three washed denim models (Yggdrasil, Odin and Valhalla) have a softer visor than the other three and bend without breaking. It is a difference in feel, not in size.
Care: hand wash at 30 °C only. Machine washing and spinning distort the visor, and the tumble dryer marks the washed fabrics.

Is the design embroidered?
No, printed. It is the only headwear in the section that is printed rather than embroidered: this allows the flat blocks of color in the flag, which are impossible to render in thread.

Four: navy, royal blue, pink and black. The visor has a white trim on all four.
