The Pattern That Embraces the Armhole
This Viking tank top features a large golden Vegvísir at the center of the chest, encircled by a double ring of interlacing, and edges both armholes with golden panels that cover the tops of the shoulders. The back follows the same construction. Matte gold ink on deep black. Find it in our Viking tank top collection.
The same symbol is available in a subtle version on the gray model.
What Sets This Tank Top Apart
On a sleeveless garment, the armhole is the most visible line. Almost no prints make use of it.
- Printed epaulets: the pattern borders the arm opening instead of stopping short — the only one in the range constructed this way.
- Double ring: the Vegvísir is enclosed in two concentric circles, which anchors it as a solid object rather than a floating design.
- Matte gold: the ink remains warm on the black without turning yellow, a classic pitfall of gold prints on textiles.
- Front-to-back continuity: the epaulets continue over the shoulders, without a break at the seam.
For gold combined with a figure, see the Golden Odin.

Did you know?
The gold worn by Scandinavians was not just for adornment: it was portable currency. Arm and neck rings, often made of silver rather than gold, were cut as needed — archaeologists call the thousands of fragments found in hoards hacksilver, such as the Cuerdale hoard in England, which contained over eight thousand pieces. A chieftain therefore did not distribute jewelry but units of payment, worn on the wrist until ready to be spent.

Which tank top to choose?
| Type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| All-over print, black and white | The design covers the whole garment, front and back, in two bold tones without color. | The core of the range: nine designs, from S to 6XL, the widest size range of the three families. |
| All-over print, gold or color this product | The same full coverage, but with gold, brick red or slate blue. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Four models, the most striking in the series, and the only ones that go beyond black and white. |
| Stretch knit or muscle cut | Two models whose knit contains elastane and moves with you, plus one muscle-cut model that covers the shoulder. | When the garment is really for training, or if thin straps don't suit you. Note: the muscle cut stops at 2XL. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the tank tops in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a tank top or a T-shirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
Available sizes vary by model. Thirteen tank tops go from S to 6XL, two from S to 5XL, and the muscle-cut one stops at 2XL. Check the drop-down list on the product page before ordering: it is the one that counts.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
What are the gold designs on the shoulders?
Two panels of gold knotwork that cover the tops of the shoulders and edge the armholes, like printed epaulettes.
Is the central symbol the same as on the gray model?
It's the same Vegvísir, but rendered in solid gold instead of understated gray, and circled by an additional ring of knotwork.
Does the gold catch the light?
No, the ink is matte. On black, it stands out through contrast, not shine.
Is the back printed?
Yes, with the same gold Vegvísir and the same epaulettes, continuing from the front.
