An Ink Drawing Rather Than a Print
This Viking sweatshirt works in light tones: a white background on the torso, fine black lines, and a density that increases toward the shoulders and sleeves until it saturates into gray. A large Vegvísir occupies the bottom of the garment, a second smaller one is placed on the left sleeve, and series of runes frame the interlace patterns. Find it in our viking sweatshirt collection.
The same symbol rendered in gold on a turquoise background can be found on the turquoise model.
What Sets This Sweatshirt Apart
A light motif lives through the finesse of its line: when thickened, it becomes a gray smudge.
- Progressive density: the white of the torso darkens toward the shoulders — the garment has a reading direction, from light to dark.
- Two scales of the same symbol: a large Vegvísir on the body, a small one on the sleeve. The motif echoes itself without repeating.
- Fine line: the print maintains detail even in the tightest interlace patterns on the sleeves.
- Wearable in mid-season: one of the only two light-colored models in the range.
For the other light-background model, featuring the world tree, see the white Yggdrasil and Vegvísir.

Did you know?
The Huld manuscript, which contains the oldest known representation of the Vegvísir, is not a medieval grimoire but a late compilation: Geir Vigfússon wrote it in Akureyri in 1860, by copying signs from older traditions he does not cite. Two other 19th-century Icelandic manuscripts show the same symbol with a different number of branches. Therefore, nothing allows us to fix an "original" form: the eight branches seen everywhere today are just one version among others, which became standard through reproduction.

Which print style to choose?
| Print type | What it looks like | When to choose it |
|---|---|---|
| Placed design | The body of the sweatshirt stays plain: the design is limited to the chest, the sleeves and the back. | When you want to wear the garment without the design ruling your day. It is also the only model available in fourteen color and ink combinations. |
| All-over print | The fabric is printed before assembly: front, back, sleeves, hood and right up to the seams. | When the garment is meant to be seen. Fifteen different designs, all in polyester, from 2XS to 4XL. |
| All-over print, finer artwork this product | The same full coverage, but a more detailed drawing and an acrylic, polyester and elastane knit. | When you look at a garment up close before buying it, or if polyester alone feels too stiff. Sizes up to 5XL, and up to 6XL for the zip-up model. |
Choosing your size
The manufacturer provides no size chart for the sweatshirts in this range. We would rather tell you so than publish a measurement chart we would have made up.
The method that never fails: take a sweatshirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Write this number down: it is your benchmark. You are comparing one garment with another, without going through a theoretical size, and theoretical sizes are precisely what vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of the same size. If you are between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
A word about the letters. Beyond XXL, these labels follow no common standard: a 4XL, 5XL or 6XL has no fixed equivalent, and the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.
Is the background completely white?
No. The garment shifts from white on the torso to an increasingly dense gray toward the shoulders and sleeves, where the pattern tightens.
Where is the Vegvísir?
A large Vegvísir covers the lower torso, below the pocket, and a second, smaller one is placed on the left sleeve.
Does the white get dirty quickly?
Like any light-colored garment, yes. Wash at 30 °C inside out, without fabric softener; avoid the tumble dryer, which sets stains.
Are there runes on this model?
Yes, several rows frame the knotwork, especially along the sleeves. They're decorative and don't form a text.
