A Cat That Took the Helmet
This humorous Viking t-shirt puts an armored cat at the center of the chest: a gold horned helmet, a breastplate, fur around the shoulders, and a battle-axe on its shoulder. The look, however, remains perfectly furious. It is the lightest piece in the department. Find this model in our viking t-shirt collection.
If you are looking for humor without an animal, the model with the skull slogan plays the text card.
What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
A comic motif depends on a detail: if the execution is sloppy, the joke falls with it.
- Careful illustration: the helmet, breastplate, and fur are treated with the same seriousness as a human warrior — it is the contrast that makes people laugh.
- Bold colors: gold helmet, blue background, cream fur: a warm palette rare in a department dominated by black and silver.
- Centered format: the motif occupies the middle of the chest at a readable scale without overwhelming the garment.
- Cotton: a t-shirt you wear to be seen is washed often: cotton handles repeated washing better.
In the humorous vein, also check out the warrior with an axe and its English slogan.
Choosing Your Size
The manufacturer does not provide a measurement chart for this model. Rather than leaving you without a reference, here is an estimated range, calculated from the two adult charts documented on other models in the department. These are orders of magnitude, not guaranteed measurements — we prefer to be upfront about it.
| Size | Flat Width | Chest Circumference |
|---|---|---|
| S | 49 to 51 cm | 98 to 102 cm |
| M | 51 to 54 cm | 102 to 108 cm |
| L | 53 to 57 cm | 106 to 114 cm |
| XL | 55 to 60 cm | 110 to 120 cm |
| 2XL | 57 to 63 cm | 114 to 126 cm |
| 3XL | 59 to 66 cm | 118 to 132 cm |
| 4XL | 61 to 69 cm | 122 to 138 cm |
| 5XL | 63 to 72 cm | 126 to 144 cm |
| 6XL | 65 to 75 cm | 130 to 150 cm |
The range widens on larger sizes because the two known charts diverge starting from XL: one progresses by 4 cm per size, the other by 6.
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already wear and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this number in the Flat Width column: no calculations to do. You thus compare garment to garment, without going through a theoretical size — and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The cut runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of an equivalent size. Between two sizes, take the larger one: this is the advice that avoids the most returns.
A word on the letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, off-the-rack fashion rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not correspond to any common standard. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this department, an "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.

Did You Know?
The cat has a real place in Norse mythology: Freyja's chariot is pulled by two cats, and Snorri specifies this in the Gylfaginning without giving their names — the names we read today are modern inventions. Archaeology confirms their presence: cat bones are found in habitats and even in Scandinavian graves. A Danish study published in 2015 measured dozens of skeletons from the Iron Age to today and found that the Scandinavian domestic cat has grown by about 16% since the Viking Age. This is counter-intuitive: most domesticated animals get smaller over the centuries.

Is it a good gift?
Yes. It's one of the models in this section that works best as a gift: it doesn't commit you to anything and is meant to be worn tongue-in-cheek.
Does the cat have a place in Norse mythology?
Yes. Freyja's chariot is drawn by two cats, mentioned by Snorri in the Gylfaginning. The names given to them today, however, are modern inventions.
Is the horned helmet historical?
No, and that's exactly the joke. No horned helmet from the Viking Age has ever been found: the idea dates from the opera costumes of 1876.
Is the print large?
The design takes up the center of the chest across a good width, without covering the whole torso. The back is plain.
