The Hammer and Lightning on a Burgundy Background
This Viking Mjölnir t-shirt is the only one in the collection with a burgundy background. Thor's hammer is rendered in silver at the center of the chest, framed by two ram heads and struck with lightning bolts, with the word VIKINGS in bold lettering below the design. What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
A background color that is neither black nor white is a gamble: the design must gain something from it.
- Burgundy background: a warm and deep shade that highlights the silver of the hammer better than black, where it would tend to fade.
- Centered hammer: the Mjölnir occupies the middle of the chest at its true scale: recognizable at a glance, without the need for a caption.
- Sublimation: the deep red does not bleed or fade in the wash, unlike entry-level mass-dyed textiles.
- Lightweight polyester: a base that holds saturated reds — precisely the color that cotton loses most quickly.

Choosing Your Size
These measurements are for the garment laid flat, not your body. The width is measured from one armpit seam to the other; the chest circumference is this width multiplied by two. Please allow for a tolerance of one to two centimeters: these garments are measured by hand. The manufacturer does not provide documentation for the XS size.

The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already own and that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Look for this figure in the Width flat column: no calculations needed. You are thus comparing garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size — and it is precisely theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The fit runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of an equivalent size. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, standard Western ready-to-wear rarely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL do not refer to any common standard size. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this category, an "L" ranges from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not trust the letter, trust the centimeter.

Did you know?
If Mjölnir's handle is short, it is the fault of a fly. Snorri recounts in the Skáldskaparmál that Loki, having bet his head, transformed into a fly to sabotage the work of the dwarves Brokkr and Sindri. He bit Brokkr on the eyelid while he was operating the bellows; the craftsman let go for a fraction of a second, and the handle came out too short. The hammer remained the best of the three gifts forged that day, and Thor accepted it as is. It is also for this reason that the Mjölnir pendants recovered in excavations almost all have a disproportionate handle: the defect is part of the object.

Is the background bright red or burgundy?
Burgundy, a deep shade leaning toward brown. It is not a signal red.
Why is the hammer's handle short?
It is true to the sources: in the Skáldskaparmál, Loki, turned into a fly, stings the dwarf smith, who lets go of the bellows for a second too long. Almost all the pendants found in excavations have this disproportionate handle, too.
Is the word VIKINGS large?
It runs under the main design, in heavy lettering. It can be read from several meters away.
Will the burgundy bleed?
The ink is sublimated, so it is locked into the fiber. At 30 °C, inside out, it does not transfer to the rest of the laundry.
