A Warrior Within the Triangles
This Viking Valknut t-shirt fills the knot's three triangles with a weathered texture in which, upon closer inspection, the silhouette of a helmeted warrior mounted on his beast appears. The rendering mimics flaking paint, grey and white on black, with no sharp outlines. Find this model in our Viking t-shirt collection.

What Sets This T-Shirt Apart
Hiding an image within a geometric shape is an exercise in balance: too visible, and the effect is lost; too discreet, and it goes unnoticed.
- Revealed figure: the warrior only appears at second glance, which gives the design a longevity that frontal images lack.
- Flaked texture: the flat areas are intentionally weathered, like an old painting — a finish that overly clean prints cannot replicate.
- Three values: black, medium grey, off-white: a reduced palette that keeps the Valknut shape readable despite the texture.
- Cotton: a print with a distressed look is best worn on a material that also ages over time.
If you like the distressed texture, the Valhalla warrior and runes uses the same treatment.
Choosing Your Size
The manufacturer does not provide a measurement chart for this model. Rather than leaving you without a reference, here is an estimated range, calculated from two adult size charts documented for other models in the department. These are orders of magnitude, not guaranteed measurements — we prefer to be upfront about that.
| Size | Width laid flat | Chest measurement |
|---|---|---|
| S | 49 to 51 cm | 98 to 102 cm |
| M | 51 to 54 cm | 102 to 108 cm |
| L | 53 to 57 cm | 106 to 114 cm |
| XL | 55 to 60 cm | 110 to 120 cm |
| 2XL | 57 to 63 cm | 114 to 126 cm |
| 3XL | 59 to 66 cm | 118 to 132 cm |
| 4XL | 61 to 69 cm | 122 to 138 cm |
| 5XL | 63 to 72 cm | 126 to 144 cm |
| 6XL | 65 to 75 cm | 130 to 150 cm |
The range widens for larger sizes because the two known charts diverge starting from XL: one progresses by 4 cm per size, the other by 6.
The foolproof method: take a t-shirt you already own that fits you well. Lay it flat and measure from one armpit seam to the other. Enter this number in the Width laid flat column: no calculations required. You are comparing garment to garment, without relying on a theoretical size — and it is precisely these theoretical sizes that vary from one manufacturer to another.
The fit runs small: narrower in the shoulders and shorter in the body than a European cut of an equivalent size. If you are between two sizes, choose the larger one: this is the advice that prevents the most returns.
A word on letters. These sizes follow a specific nomenclature, and beyond XXL, standard French off-the-rack clothing barely uses them: a 4XL, 5XL, or 6XL does not correspond to any common French size. Worse, the same letter does not mean the same thing from one manufacturer to another: in this department, a "L" can range from 94 to 112 cm in chest circumference depending on the model. Do not rely on the letter; rely on the centimeter.

Did you know?
The Valknut appears on very different media, which is what makes its interpretation solid. It is found engraved on Gotland stones — notably Stora Hammars I, next to a execution scene —, carved on a bedpost in the Oseberg ship, incised on the Tängelgårda stone, and even on the Nene well ring in England. Almost always in a funerary or sacrificial context, almost always associated with Odin or horses. It is this recurrence of context, more than the drawing itself, that forms the common reading of the symbol as a sign of the passage from death.

What exactly can you see in the triangles?
The silhouette of a helmeted warrior riding his beast, revealed by the texture. It doesn't show at first glance; that's intentional.
Is the worn look a printing defect?
No, it's the design itself: the solid areas are drawn as if eroded, like flaking paint. The print itself is sharp.
Where is the Valknut found in archaeology?
On Gotland stones such as Stora Hammars I, on a bedpost from the Oseberg ship, on the Tängelgårda stone, and on a well ring in England. Almost always in a funerary context.
Is the print on the chest only?
Yes. The back is plain black, as on all the screen-printed models in this section.
