What sets this beard bead apart
- The rune of mastered movement: it does not speak of flight, it speaks of the itinerary.
- It is the most natural sign for someone who hits the road often — and one of the most legible from a distance on a braid.
- A slide-on, not a clasp: the bead slides onto the lock before braiding. It is the thickness of the braid that secures it, so there is nothing that can break.

Was this rune used in the Viking Age?
Not in this form. The Elder Futhark predates the Viking Age; Scandinavians of the 9th–11th centuries carved the Younger Futhark, with its sixteen signs.
What strand thickness does this bead fit?
The hole measures about 6 mm. It fits a medium-density beard braid or a thin braid of hair.
How do I keep it from slipping?
Thread it onto the strand before braiding, then braid below it: the braid thickens and the bead can no longer slide down. If it still slips, the strand you took is too thin.
