A Raven Perched on a Skull
The scene consists of two elements: a raven with folded wings and a red eye, perched on a human skull that it seems to be guarding. Surrounding it, a frieze of feathers and small bones encircles the neck. The stem is fashioned with openwork Gothic finials, and the base is ringed with a row of beads. Silver on a bronze background. Is the raven raised or engraved?
In high relief: the body and wings stand out clearly from the wall, and the beak juts out beyond the profile of the cup.
Can you drink from it?
Yes. The inner liner is made of food-grade stainless steel and comes out completely for cleaning. The sculpted resin is only an outer shell.
What is its capacity?
About 200 ml. It's a tasting chalice: for a large volume, go for our tankards of 450 to 600 ml.
Can the red touch on the eye wear off?
It's protected by the finishing varnish. Avoid abrasive sponges and hot water; a damp cloth is enough.
