Two Blue Dragons Standing Guard
Two metallic blue dragons with wings spread face each other at the center of the bowl, framing a purple gem. The rest of the goblet is finished in a stone-grey engraved with interlacing patterns, and the braided stem flares out into a gold-rimmed base. Three materials combined in a single piece. 200 ml. Find it among our Viking chalices.
What Sets This Piece Apart
- Double wall: an outer shell of sculpted resin and a removable food-grade stainless steel inner cup. Your drink only touches the metal.
- Metallic blue: the dragons' patina has a pearlescent sheen that contrasts sharply with the matte grey of the cup.
- Gold base: a gold ring encircles the base, visually balancing the blue of the top.
- Engraved interlace: fills all the space left by the dragons, leaving no empty areas.
- Hand-applied patina: the recesses remain dark, while the edges catch the light. No two examples are ever exactly alike.

Did you know?
The blue color of this chalice would have been expensive in the North. It was obtained from woad, cultivated and fermented, or from indigo brought from afar at great cost—making it a status color. Indeed, Icelandic sagas give it a very specific meaning: when a character appears wearing a blue cloak, it is a signal. They have come to kill someone. This motif recurs so often, notably in Njal's Saga, that medieval readers would have recognized it immediately, much like we recognize the music that signals a murder today.

Dragon, skull or warrior: which design to choose?
| Design | What the cup shows | Who to give it to |
|---|---|---|
| Dragon this product | Body coiled around the stem, wings spread, set gem; from smooth low relief to full sculpture | The widest and most crowd-pleasing choice: fantasy fans, gamers, collectors |
| Skull and bones | Curled horns, membranous wings, stacked vertebrae, friezes of small skulls | For a dark decor you already embrace, and for autumn and Halloween tables |
| Warrior and helmet | Bearded face or nasal helm in high relief, crossed axes, knotwork at the foot | The most understated and most historical register: saga readers, fans of Viking series |
| Raven | Red-eyed bird perched on a skull, frieze of feathers and small bones | A targeted gift, for someone who recognizes Huginn and Muninn without being told their names |
| Goat and pentagram | Baphomet head inside a pentagram on a red background, frieze of skulls | An occult, non-Norse register, for those who embrace this imagery; 600 ml, a 500 ml bottle plus the head |
Is the central gem securely attached?
It is set in a mount molded together with the wall, so it is part of the piece. Avoid direct knocks and hot water.
What is the capacity?
About 200 ml, with a weight of 500 g empty.
Does the gilding wear off?
No, as long as you avoid the dishwasher and abrasive sponges. A damp cloth is enough for the outside.
Can I pour a hot drink into it?
No. Keep it for cold or room-temperature drinks: mead, wine, beer, juice.
